Our Mission

At Cross Stream, we build tools that help scientists and engineers focus on what truly matters. Our XAI techniques distill complex systems into their most essential components, giving researchers simpler, sharper models to guide their thinking and amplify their impact. Like a fine chisel in the hands of a master craftsman, our technology enables skilled scientists to work with greater precision, clarity, and creativity. Because in science, models are both the tools and the goals, we're here to help build better ones--and to empower brilliant minds to make impactful discoveries.

Our Team

Mark Transtrum, CEO

I'm a scientist-turned-entrepreneur working to bridge the gap between academic innovation and industrial application. Many of the modeling techniques I helped develop in academia--especially in the context of AI and complex systems--have untapped potential in industry. At Cross Stream Bioanalytics, we're adapting these methods to advance Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP), with the goal of embedding them into real-world decision-making workflows for both drug development and approval.

Christian Anderson, CFO

I've spent my career developing innovative analytical methods--like Bayesian Serial SimCoal, Temporal Networks, Simplex Projection, and Time-Widening Information Geometry (TWIG)--and, critically, turning them into usable software. These tools have been applied on all seven continents and enabled hundreds of peer-reviewed papers. I thrive at the intersection of theory and application, building solutions that researchers actually use. Now, I'm channeling that experience into launching the Revelon platform and embedding CRISP workflows, with the goal of creating a more refined, reproducible XAI ecosystem that accelerates discovery.

Benjamin Francis, Lead scientist

Ben has been the chief scientist / principle investigator at Achilles Heel Technologies, a DHS- and DOE-funded company identifying threats to critical infrastructure. Prior to this, he spent a year and a half as a postdoctoral fellow at BYU, where he worked on two projects: one developing model reduction methods for complex systems, and the other working in superconductivity theory. Ben received a Ph.D. in Physics from BYU and a B.S. in Physics from BYU-Idaho.
